- Veritas Enterprise Product End of Support Life (EOSL) Information can filter by product and product version. Veritas™ Services and Operations Readiness Tools (SORT) PRODUCTS. End of Support for Backup Exec Versions: End of Support for Desktop and Laptop Option Versions.
- The current version of Backup Exec replaces any previous versions. Separate installations of different versions cannot exist on the same computer. Most settings and all catalogs and all data directories from previous versions of Backup Exec are kept, unless you choose to remove them.
- Backup Exec gives you simple, complete backup and recovery protection for your business—to cover all data wherever it resides. With the choice of up-front perpetual or subscription licensing, Backup Exec is available in three editions to best fit your needs. Bronze provides the most economic option. Silver offers the most-used features.
The current version of Backup Exec is 20.1. If you currently have maintenance with Veritas, an upgrade may be provided at no charge. You may verify your eligibility and download the current version at our Entitlement site.

Extended Technical support and content updates for customers with current Maintenance Support will be available according to the dates listed in the table below. This notice describes the timelines for the delivery of support services for these versions that have begun their End of Life process. |
Sep 01, 2019 On one particular Windows Server 2012 R2, I am forced to remove KB4517298 and or KB4512488 or the Backup Exec user interface will not open. The back end product runs fine and I can even remotely access it from another computer.
