Ptc License Server
PTC License Management (LM) provides the following services for obtaining and managing your PTC software products and licenses.
- Codes for new software orders.
- Access to PTC software license information, including the ability to request a current license pack, access or modify current address and contact information, and request a Customer Detail Report.
- Ability to modify existing license configurations, including removing and reinstalling software when replacing obsolete machines, consolidating licenses to a single server, and moving options from one license to another.
The PTC LM Web tools provide the most efficient management of your licenses on the Support Website on ptc.com. With the online tools you can perform almost every license management operation without calling a License Management representative. You can also contact License Management by one of the following methods:

The license server manager handles the initial contact with your PTC software that uses FlexNet licensing. It passes the connection to the appropriate vendor daemon. A license server manager serves the following purposes:. Starts and maintains vendor daemons for serving license. We highly recommend running the FlexNet license server ( lmadmin) as a service (on Windows) or a daemon (on OS X or Linux). As a result, the server can start automatically after the machine boots. Starting the server manually is not user-friendly – there is no GUI for this action. If your operating system is Windows.
